Everything old is new again— that’s the beauty of fashion. Although it constantly evolves, it always comes back full circle. And one of the historic trends that is poised to make a comeback this season is ruffles.
According to history, the origin of the ruffle began in Germany in the 15th century when soldiers would slash their sleeves, creating a ruffled effect that would later come to symbolize their return from war. Fast forward today, ruffles have bridged costume design and high fashion, making them one of the biggest trend to look out for in 2021.
